Each apprentice contributed a re-imagined animal figure to the composition which includes diverse portraits in silhouette communing with their animal creations. An 8th grade legacy mural. Two weeks of in-classroom training. One week of install on campus, socially distanced but full of joy.
The 8th grader’s chosen theme for 2020: Identity and Self-Acceptance. Each student composed a self-portrait vignette to paint side by side along the long stretch of wall. As if to remind the quiet sidewalks, I’m Still Here!
3 1/2 weeks, 4 aspiring muralist volunteers. Design in collaboration with the city of Henderson, KY.
